Depositoffer may collect personal information as part of the registration process for persons joining the community. This information includes name, email, address, and telephone number. We may collect your Social Security number to help verify your identity or for other reasons, including obtaining a credit report. If you have a question regarding our services prior to registering as a member, we may collect your name and email address in order to respond to your requests.
Each member has its own member page where it may post information about itself. You will be identified only by your username, which you choose and which you can use to remain anonymous. If you provide identifying information, either in your choice of username or otherwise, it is your choice, and you do so at your own discretion. We use your information to prepare your profile and to facilitate requested transactions in the depositoffer community. This includes:

Because depositoffer is a community-oriented marketplace, it is important that members have sufficient information about each other to consider transactions. You are welcome to share as much information about yourself as you think is necessary and appropriate. Such sharing of information is entirely your choice, and you share this information at your own discretion. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them.

We give you choices regarding your information
Some information is required in order to participate in the depositoffer community. For example, we need certain information in order to verify your identity and, for Financial Institutions seeking deposits, establish appropriate rates for your proposed listing.
Some information is optional, such as details about your transaction. You can share as much or as little optional information as you like. Depositor listings must not include any personally identifiable information, but otherwise the information you choose to share in a listing is entirely your own choice, and you share this information at your discretion. Potential Financial Institutions may request additional information from you in the course of completing your transaction. Its your choice to share information. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them.
You can access and review the personal information you submit at any time. To update your personal profile information, you can log in to your account using your username and password specified at the time of registration. If you no longer desire our service, you may request your account be deactivated by emailing our Member Support at compliance@depositoffer.com or by contacting us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below. We will respond to your request within the same business day.
The information we collect from you when you register as a depositoffer member is kept securely in our database. We retain this information to satisfy legal requirements such as recordkeeping and tax and credit reporting requirements, as well as for purposes of fraud prevention, audit and data integrity.
We share and display certain credit and transaction status information
If you register as a Depositor and create a listing, we display your listing including your username, and the narrative description you prepared for your listing publicly on the Depositoffer web site. Registered Financial Institution who you have approved to access your full profile.
We use your username to identify your transaction; therefore, in order to protect your privacy, you should choose a username that does not closely resemble your real name, and you are not permitted to use your real name or other personally identifiable information in your transaction listing. If your listing is cancelled by depositoffer, we notify any members participating in your listing of the cancellation.
We protect your information
At depositoffer, we are committed to maintaining the security and confidentiality of your personal and financial information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that meet or exceed industry standards for financial institutions.
We control access to this information via secure web pages, and limit access to only those employees or third parties on a need to know basis.
We employ firewalls and other security technologies to protect our servers from external attack. We enable our servers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to establish a secure connection between your computer and our servers, creating a private "conversation" that cannot be viewed or accessed by other parties. We test our systems regularly to ensure that our security mechanisms are up to date.
The security of your account also depends on the protection of your depositoffer password. You should not share this password with anyone. We have developed procedures for recovering your password which will not require you to send us your password via email or give it out over the phone. If you ever receive an email requesting entry of your email address and/or username and password, confirm that you are on a web site with a URL beginning http://depositoffer.com/ or https://depositoffer.com.

Helpful tips on protecting your information
It is a good practice to select a password for your account that is at least eight characters in length. In addition, your password should be unique and not easily predictable, and should contain at least one of each of (1) lower case letters, (2) upper case letters, (3) numbers and (4) special characters. Another good practice is to change your password periodically (at least every six months).
